This mini-lesson for high school students or upper middle school students on thesis statement writing is great for part of an argumentative unit. The Google Drive folder includes:
- Engaging Notes: Eye-catching digital notes designed to captivate students' interest, while providing relevant examples and non-examples and a mnemonic device to help them retain the information.
-Interactive Practice: An interactive thesis statement tournament where a little competition adds a boost of engagement while students practice their thesis-building skills.
- An Exit Ticket: You can evaluate individual student progress with this quick, printable assessment, allowing you to adjust your teaching strategy accordingly.
This entire lesson can take 2 - 3 days of class time, depending on your schedule (90-minute vs. ~50 minute blocks).
