Nice to meet ya!
To my loved ones, I'm simply Ana, and I LOVE dogs, especially my baby boy Montey (11 y.o.), ice cream, dystopian literature + novels-in-verse, dancing, traveling, and making people smile. I'm a Jill of many trades and interests and enjoy being a life-long learner.
I'm always down for a good movie or an adrenaline adventure, if I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, I would choose sushi, and I'm Latina (Colombian) with a melting pot of cultures in my blood and heart.
Some fun facts:
🌼 There's not a day that goes by that I don't jam out to music.
🌼 I used to compete in pageants and held several local titles in FL.
🌼 I write poetry/spoken word pieces + have a small collection published.
I've been an ELA teacher for 10 years, though my BA was in Journalism - which is probably why my favorite thing to teach is still writing. I've taught every grade from 6-12, but high school is where my heart's at. I adore helping students and allowing them space to feel heard, seen, and understood, but since I started this business, I've realized that I equally love nerding out while helping other teachers feel more comfortable, confident, and creative.
I'll be taking what I'm calling my teacher sabbatical during the 2023-2024 school year, but I still plan on subbing a few days every month because I know I will miss the big babies. I'm not sure if I'll return to the classroom full time in the future, but I do know that the education world will always be some part of my life.
To get real for a sec, I live with depression, but I'm a warr;or, and I use my struggles to further empathize with others, and hopefully leave a little trail of inspiration along the way.
My life's definitely not always together, but I try my best to be a good human and keep hope alive.
Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to shoot me a message so we can connect :)
